When to Convert PowerPoint to PDF
Sharing presentations as PDFs ensures consistent appearance across all devices and operating systems. When you email a PowerPoint file, missing fonts, different PowerPoint versions, or absent plugins can cause slides to display incorrectly. A PDF guarantees your audience sees the exact layout, typography, and visuals you designed, whether they open it on a Mac, PC, tablet, or phone.
Conference speakers and educators often distribute slide decks as PDF handouts. PDFs are lighter than presentation files since they omit animations and embedded media, making them faster to download and easier to print. Students and attendees can annotate the PDF with notes without risk of accidentally altering the original slides.
Your documents are transmitted over an encrypted connection and automatically purged from our servers once processing is complete. We never store, share, or access your file contents. This makes the tool safe for slides containing confidential information such as quarterly financial results, unreleased product plans, or internal strategy documents.
Frequently Asked Questions
Are slide animations included in the PDF?
No. PDF is a static format, so animations and transitions are not included. Each slide is captured as a single static image representing its final state. This is standard behavior for any PowerPoint-to-PDF conversion.
Can I convert PPT (older format) files?
Yes. Both modern PPTX and legacy PPT formats are supported. The converter processes both types and produces a standard PDF regardless of the input format.
Will speaker notes be included?
The default conversion creates a PDF of the slides only. Speaker notes are not included in the output, which is typically what you want when sharing with an audience or printing handouts.
What happens to embedded videos?
Embedded videos cannot be included in a PDF since it is a static format. The first frame or placeholder image of the video will appear in its place on the slide. All other visual elements are preserved normally.
Is the conversion private?
Your file is securely uploaded over an encrypted HTTPS connection to our processing server. Once conversion is complete and you download the result, both the original and converted files are automatically deleted. We never retain, read, or share your documents.
