Waddle Up: Penguin Merge · Genie9 LTD · Last updated 31 October 2026

This policy explains what Waddle Up: Penguin Merge (the “game”) does with information about you. The game is made by Genie9 LTD, a company registered in the United Kingdom (“we”, “us”), which is responsible for this information. If you have a question, write to support@genie9.com.

In short: you can play without giving us your name or e-mail address. The game gives you a random player number so your progress, league places and purchases can be kept safe. Adverts are optional videos, chosen by Google and not based on what you do in other apps. You can delete everything from the game’s Settings at any time.

What we keep, and why

  • Your player account. The first time the game connects, our server gives it a random player number (a guest account). We use it to keep your progress and to run the leagues. A guest account that never saves anything is deleted after 30 days.
  • Your progress (cloud save). Levels won, stars, coins, gems, boosters, your camp and settings are saved on your phone, and a copy is kept on our server so it is not lost and can follow you to a new phone.
  • Leagues, daily ranks and invites. You get a made-up name and a picture chosen from the game’s own list; you cannot type a name, and there is no chat. We keep your league points and places, your best Classic score each day, your invite code, the friends you joined by code, and the rewards waiting for you. Other players see only your made-up name, picture, points and scores.
  • Sign in with Google or Apple (optional). If you choose to save your progress this way, we keep the account number Google or Apple gives us and the e-mail address they share (with Apple you can hide it). We use them only to let you back into your progress. With Apple, we also keep a token that lets us end the link with Apple when you delete your account.
  • Purchases. Gem packs and the starter pack are bought through Google Play or the App Store. We never see your card or bank details. To check that a purchase is real, the game sends it to our server, which asks Google or Apple; we keep the store’s order or transaction number, the product, the time and your player number.
  • Technical information. When the game talks to our server, the server sees your device’s internet (IP) address and the game’s version. We use this only to keep the service working and secure, for example to stop abuse.

We use this information to provide the game you asked for (our contract with you) and, for security and preventing fraud, because we have a legitimate interest in doing so. We do not sell it, and we do not use it to build an advertising profile of you.

Adverts

The game shows a video advert only when you choose to watch one (for example for more shots or double coins). The adverts come from Google AdMob. We ask Google to treat every advert request as for a child: the adverts are family-friendly and are not personalised from your activity in other apps or websites. To show and count adverts, and to prevent advert fraud, Google receives information such as your IP address and device and app details. The game does not use your device’s advertising ID (on Android it does not have the permission to read it), and on iPhone it does not ask to track you. Because every advert request is marked as coming from a child, the game does not ask for consent to personalised adverts: none are shown to anyone. Google’s use of this information is explained at policies.google.com/technologies/partner-sites.

Who else handles information

  • Google (Google Play, AdMob, and Google sign-in if you use it) and Apple (the App Store, and Sign in with Apple if you use it), under their own privacy policies: policies.google.com/privacy and apple.com/legal/privacy.
  • The companies that host our servers, who store data for us and may not use it for anything else.

If information is handled outside the UK, we make sure the protections required by UK data protection law are in place.

Sharing from the game

When you share a score card or your invite code, the game opens your phone’s own share menu. You choose who receives it; we do not see what you send.

How long we keep it, and deleting it

We keep your account and game data until you delete your account. To delete it, open Settings in the game and choose Delete account: your player account, cloud save, league history, scores, invite code, friends, rewards and any Google or Apple link are erased from our server straight away, and the game starts again as a new player. Records of purchases are kept, with your player number removed, for as long as tax and accounting law requires (in the UK, six years), so that refunds and accounts can be handled. Uninstalling the game removes the copy on your phone but not the copy on our server; to remove that, delete your account first, or write to us.

Your rights

You can ask us for a copy of your data, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how we use it, by writing to support@genie9.com. Tell us your player code from the game’s invite screen, or the Google or Apple account you linked, so we can find it. You can also complain to your data protection authority (in the UK, the Information Commissioner’s Office, ico.org.uk).

Children

The game is suitable for all ages. It does not ask for your age, name, e-mail address, contacts, location or photos. Players cannot talk to each other, and names in the leagues are made up by the game. Adverts are family-friendly and not personalised for anyone. Signing in with Google or Apple is optional and meant for players old enough to have their own account; younger players can play everything without it. Purchases are made through the store, where parents can require their approval (Family Link on Android, Ask to Buy on iPhone). If you believe a child has given us personal information, write to us and we will delete it.

Changes

If we change this policy, we will publish the new version on this page with a new date, and tell you in the game if the change is important.
