The Activity page: every run and restore

Every backup and restore with its result, in one list you can search and filter, with the log and the fix one click away.

On this page

Activity lists every backup and restore on this PC, newest first, with what each did and how long it took. Open it from the rail. A red number on Activity counts failures of the last 24 hours you have not seen yet; opening the page clears it.

The page loads the latest 200 runs, or the runs in the dates you pick. Run records are kept for 12 months, and each job's newest one for longer.

Messages are kept here too, the last 100 of them: the window's own pop-ups, and the scheduler's notices, such as a missed run or a run waiting for its drive, mains power or the end of quiet hours. The scheduler's notices are recorded even while the window is closed. They carry the app's name in the Job column and are marked Done, Warning, Problem or Notice.

Find a run#

  • Search activity: matches the job's name, the event, the error code and the destination.
  • All, Failures, With skips, Restores: Failures includes interrupted runs.
  • The two dates: from and to.
  • The job list: All jobs, or one.

Nothing matches? Clear filters puts them back.

The detail panel#

Click a row. The panel on the right shows the job, when it ran, its type and result.

  • A failed run shows its message, what to do and the code, with the buttons that fix it, for example Test connection and Update credentials for E-DEST-001.
  • Summary shows New, Updated, Skipped, the destination, the bytes written, and Notified: which notifications went out (Windows notification, email, webhook).
  • Detailed log shows the last 60 lines of the run's log.
  • Open report opens the full report; Open job opens the job's page.

Double-click a row to open its report straight away.

The two buttons at the top#

  • Open logs folder opens the background agent's logs in File Explorer, one file per day.
  • Export… writes a support bundle, a zip with the logs, your settings and job files without their secrets, the last ten run reports and a system summary, and opens its folder. Nothing is uploaded; read it before you send it. See Getting help: diagnostics and the support bundle.

What Activity does not keep#

Deleting a job deletes its run reports, so they leave Activity too. Export a report's log first (Export log on the report) if you need it. Run logs are kept for as long as Settings ▸ Advanced ▸ Keep logs for says (30 days by default); the run's record stays after its log is gone.
