Your link#
Click your account card at the bottom of the sidebar and choose Share GBM AI (also in Ctrl+K and Settings ▸ About). Signed in, the window shows:
- your link, such as genie9.com/gbm-ai/i/7K3Q9P, and your code, 7K3Q9P, each with Copy;
- a message you can change, and buttons that open your mail program, WhatsApp, X, Facebook or LinkedIn with it filled in. GBM AI posts nothing by itself;
- how many friends count so far, and each friend as a masked address such as m•••@gmail.com with where they are.
Signed out, the window has a plain link to GBM AI and offers to sign you in. Signing in takes your e-mail and a six-digit code.
Now and then, on Home#
After a restore or Put back brings your files back, or after a month of backups that all went well, Home may suggest sharing GBM AI with a line of its own. It asks at most once every two months; Not now puts it away, and after two of those it does not come back. It never shows on Windows Server, near the end of a trial, while a job needs attention, or beside What's new.
What your friend gets#
20% off a GBM AI Home or Pro licence. Opening your link keeps the code in their browser and it is applied at checkout; on another browser they type the code in the checkout's code box. Buying several licences, they get the volume price instead where it saves more (from 5 licences). The 20% does not apply to Server or to renewals.
When a friend counts#
- They buy Home or Pro with your link or code. They count three weeks later (the 14-day refund window and time for a refund to arrive), if the purchase was not refunded.
- Or they use it: they open your link, install GBM AI on a PC new to GBM AI, and sign in with their own e-mail from the app, opening the sign-in e-mail's link in the same browser as your link (typing the six-digit code instead does not link them). GBM AI must then run on that PC on 10 of its first 14 days.
The Share window says where each friend is: Signed in · waiting for the PC, Backing up · day 6 of 10, Bought · counts on 12 November, Counts, or Didn't count. You get an e-mail each time a friend counts.
Not counted: you, your own PCs or purchases; someone who already owns a GBM AI licence; throwaway e-mail addresses; a friend already counted for someone else. Addresses that reach the same inbox count once (name+tag@ is name@, and dots in a Gmail name make no new person).
Your free licence#
For every 3 friends who count you get a GBM AI Home licence for 2 PCs, yours for ever, with a year of updates and support, up to 3 licences. It arrives by e-mail with its key: use it on your own PCs, or give it to someone. When any of the three counted by installing rather than buying, Genie9 checks them first, usually within two working days. See Buying and activating to switch it on.
