GBM AI is bought once, not rented. Home, Pro and Server are one payment with a year of updates and support included, and the licence never expires. Free costs nothing and never runs out.

In every edition#

  • Restore, always. No edition, lapsed licence or ended trial ever blocks a restore.
  • Local drives and USB drives as destinations.
  • Full and incremental backups, compression, open-file snapshots (VSS), filters, verification after each run.
  • Six schedule rhythms: every few hours, daily, weekly, monthly, at sign-in, once. Every 15 or 30 minutes comes with Home and up.
  • Checks of old backups, which read old sets back now and then.
  • Find, the file index that searches every backup.
  • Ask Genie, at the edition's monthly allowance.

On Free, retention keeps the last N sets; deleting sets by age and starting a new full every N runs are part of Home and Pro.

Which one#

  • Free: one PC, two jobs, to a USB drive or a second disk. Enough for Documents and Photos.
  • Home: a household. Two PCs, a NAS, encryption, and an email when a backup fails.
  • Pro: a PC that backs up overnight with nobody signed in, a bucket at a cloud provider, a command before or after the backup, and limits so a backup never slows you down. Two PCs.
  • Server: one Windows Server, 2016 to 2025, Server Core included. Everything in Pro, with priority email support and 300 Genie prompts a month. See GBM AI on Windows Server.

Buying several licences#

Each Home or Pro licence covers 2 PCs, and each Server licence one server. For more, buy several licences in one order on the website; each one then costs less:

Licences in one orderSavingHome, eachPro, eachServer, each
1 or 2—$39$79$199
3 to 415%$33$67$169
5 to 925%$29$59$149
10 or more30%$27$55$139
  • You get one key whose PCs or servers add up (five Pro licences give one key for 10 PCs, three Server licences one key for 3 servers), or a separate key for each licence if you choose.
  • Renewing the updates keeps the volume price.
  • Buy in the app buys one licence for this PC. For several, use the volume prices on the website.
  • A licence bought before 20 October 2026 keeps the PCs it was sold with: 3 for Home, 5 for Pro.

A large order with an invoice, or reselling: contact sales.

Try before you buy#

The default setup starts a 15-day trial of Pro: every Pro feature, no account and no card. On Windows Server, every setup starts the 15-day Server trial. See The 15-day trial.

Updates and support#

Every purchase includes a year of updates and support; the checkout also offers two. When that year ends, nothing stops: you keep the licence and every version released during your year, for ever. Newer versions and email support need another year, and Ask Genie drops to the Free allowance. Another year of updates is optional; the app tells you the price before you renew. See Updates and the support window.
