When the trial ends
Backups pause, nothing is deleted, restore keeps working. Then you choose: buy, continue on Free with two jobs, or enter a key.
When the 15 days are over, GBM AI stops scheduled backups and shows one screen: Your trial has ended. Your backups are paused. Straight under it: Nothing has been deleted. Every backup you made is safe, and Restore files on the same screen brings any of them back, in any edition, for ever.
Before it ends#
The app warns you first: a line on Home from 6 days left, an amber banner from 3 days left, one notification at 2 days, and on the last day Your trial ends today. Backups will pause tonight unless you choose an edition. A PC that is signed in also gets an email when 3 days are left and on the day the trial ends. Buy before the end and nothing pauses.

Three ways on#
Buy Home or Pro#
- Click Buy Home ($39) or Buy Pro ($79). The Genie9 store opens in your browser.
- Pay, and come back. The licence activates by itself.
Every job resumes at once, with every setting it had. A backup that fell due while paused runs straight away if it is still inside its catch-up window (12 hours by default). See Buying and activating a licence.
Continue on Free#
Free keeps two jobs running, for ever, on this PC's drives and USB drives.
- Click Choose jobs to keep.
- Tick up to two jobs.
- Click Continue on Free.
A job that uses a paid feature cannot be ticked. Its line says what it needs, for example needs Home · encryption. The paid features that block a job are encryption, a network share, cloud, differential and mirror. Upgrade on that line opens the store; Change it opens the job, so you can remove that setting and save, and the job can then be ticked. Its earlier backups stay restorable either way.
The jobs you did not tick keep every setting. The Jobs page shows them as Disabled · needs Home or Pro, and they resume by themselves the moment a Home or Pro licence is activated.
Enter a licence key#
Click Already bought GBM AI? Enter a licence key, paste the key and click Activate on this PC. Every job resumes at once.
Afterwards#
The choice is recorded and the screen does not come back. On Free, the account card at the bottom left shows Trial ended · Free, and Account shows GBM AI Free. You can buy Home or Pro at any time: Upgrade at the bottom of the left rail opens Editions & store.
The trial is one per PC. Reinstalling GBM AI, or installing another setup, does not start a new one.
