For imaging centers

Stop burning CDs. Keep every prior.

Your scanners send to BigMind the way they send to your PACS. Every study is backed up, filed by patient, and goes out to the patient as a link. Older priors can age into archive storage that costs a few dollars per TB.

BigMind Medical is not a diagnostic device. It keeps, files and shares images for review; a clinician reads every image.

The CD

What the disc really costs you.

An example center

40 studies a day, five days a week. Half the patients leave with a disc, at about $4 each once the blank, the label and the time are counted.

$20,800

a year, on 5,200 discs, before the ones that get posted, lost or can’t be read.

One US hospital system burned about 142,000 discs in a year before it moved to sharing images online.
Radiology Business
A US cancer center found that more than one in ten CDs it received could not be loaded.

How it runs

Nothing changes for your technologists.

Built for a busy site

What an imaging center gets.

  • A QR at the front deskThe patient scans it before they leave. No disc, no envelope, no call-back.
  • Every prior, findableSearch by name or ID and open earlier studies side by side. Archived ones come back in minutes to hours.
  • Cheap archiveCold $8 and Deep Freeze $5 per TB a month, still listed under the patient.
  • The machines come backWhole-machine recovery for workstations and servers, boot-tested in advance.
  • For referring doctorsFull viewer in the browser, or the original DICOM to download.
  • An audit logEvery link made, opened or stopped, every download and every change.

Where we fit

Your PACS stays. We keep the copy.

Your PACS and your radiologist

Read and report.

  • Hanging protocols and worklists
  • The signed diagnostic report
  • Keep whatever you use today, or none at all

BigMind Medical

Keep, file and send.

  • A safe copy of every scan, and of the machines around it
  • A patient record that builds itself from the images
  • A viewer to review, and a link for the patient and their doctor

Not built, so you can plan around it: modality worklists, query/retrieve, and a C-STORE endpoint in the cloud.

FAQ

Questions from imaging centers

Does BigMind Medical replace our PACS?

No. Your radiologists keep reading and reporting where they do today. BigMind keeps a safe copy of every study and of the machines around it, files it by patient, and gets it to patients and referring doctors as a link.

Can our scanners send to it?

Yes. Start the DICOM receiver that comes with the BigMind agent for Windows on a clinic PC, and add it on the modality as another DICOM destination (address, port 11112 and AE title). The modality sends to it over C-STORE, the same way it sends to your PACS. Or let the agent back up the folder a workstation already writes to.

Does it do worklists or query/retrieve?

No. There is no modality worklist and no C-FIND or C-MOVE. Your RIS’s accession number does flow through, and your systems can find studies by it over the API.

How do priors stay affordable?

Older studies move to archive storage, Cold at $8 or Deep Freeze at $5 per TB a month, and stay listed under the patient. A Cold study comes back in 3–12 hours, or 2–6 minutes expedited; Deep Freeze takes 12–48 hours. Retention rules in many places run for years, which is what archive tiers are for.

We have many front-desk and technologist logins. Is it priced per user?

Standard and Pro are priced per user. For a busy site with many staff, talk to us about a price for the whole site.
