Local-Only mode keeps backup chunks on your disk or NAS. Cloud holds metadata only — for the dashboard. Privacy-first, air-gap-compatible, complies with regs that forbid cloud data egress.

Druva is 100% SaaS. Veeam needs a Backup Server. Datto requires a hardware appliance. None of them let you keep your backup data only on hardware you own. For practices, firms, and agencies with regulatory or paranoia-driven “no cloud egress” policies, that’s a deal-breaker.
